Welcoming Catherine to the CGC Team
We are excited to welcome Catherine Kennedy to the Compassionate Grief Centre team as our newest Clinical Counselling Intern.
Catherine is currently a counselling student at Yorkville University and brings with her more than seven years of clinical experience as an accredited Music Therapist. Her work has included supporting individuals in mental health, long-term care, and community settings, giving her a diverse understanding of the many experiences that can shape a person's emotional well-being.
Catherine is passionate about supporting people as they navigate grief, loss, and life transitions. She has a particular interest in working with seniors and individuals with intellectual disabilities, and her experiences with L'Arche Saint John and in long-term care have strengthened her commitment to providing compassionate, accessible, and individualized support.
At the Compassionate Grief Centre, we believe that everyone deserves to feel heard, valued, and supported as they navigate life's difficult moments. Catherine shares that belief, and we are grateful to have her joining our team and bringing her experience, compassion, and unique perspective to our work.
As a Clinical Counselling Intern, Catherine is looking forward to continuing to develop her counselling skills while creating a safe and supportive space for the individuals she works with. Her background in music therapy also gives her a unique perspective on connection, expression, and the ways people can be supported through challenging experiences.
We are especially excited about the experience and care Catherine will bring to our work with people experiencing grief and loss. Grief is deeply personal, and having someone who is willing to listen without judgment and meet each person where they are can make an important difference.
Please join us in welcoming Catherine to the Compassionate Grief Centre family. We are so happy to have her as part of our team and look forward to seeing the meaningful connections she builds with the people we have the privilege of supporting.
Welcome, Catherine!
